Silver Flame Kat	I sincerely hope that I do not offend any one with this post as that is not my intent. This is not directed towards anyone so please take it at face value. I have owned a Prowler since July 2000 and I have never lost that feeling I got the first day I drove it down the highway with the top down. I still get that same feeling today and I still love it. Its the best car(s) I have ever owned. For a long time I have been wondering about something and maybe someone can help me. I have wondered why we devalue the very thing that has brought us all together here. The greatest car I have ever owned..the Prowler. What do I mean?? Let me give you an example. Sometimes when I see a post for a Prowler for sale on the board, or people are discussing the value of the prowler, I see POA members post negatively concerning the prowler's value by discussing how many Prowlers have sold so cheap etc. etc. While this is a small thing, and may seem petty to some, it isn't to me. I don't know why that is, maybe I really love my car. Maybe I wouldn't post something that could affect the image or value of the very reason I am here. As with my family, I find if you can't say anything postitive...yada yada yada. I hope my ramblings haven't bored you too much. Just had to get it off my chest. ------------------
Marc-Colo-99	Tom, I couldn't agree more. Like my folks always said "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all" I understand the differance between buying and selling but why not keep the opinions to yourself when it is negative on something an owner is legitimately trying to sell? ------------------
ALLEY CAT	I agree with you guys. Larry Lord once talked about all the negative comments when someone would list their cars or parts for sale. If you aren't interested in buying,,,,don't post to that thread. Let the listing person have their space and opinions to what their product is worth. Conditions and value can change dramatically from one item to the next,,,,from one part of the country to another. Example: California is flooded %wise with import autos on the road = high gas prices, long commutes, need higher mpg ratings. Michigan is strong labor unions and UAW country = domestics rule the road there. JMO
idive	I agree with the above, but on occasion have been torn between posting and not posting when I see someone selling something (not their car) that can be purchased cheaper elsewhere. Example: selling an owners manual for $25 when you can still order them for $6. Or when a parts guy gives us a discount, when another parts guy gives a bigger discount. What does one do in a case like that? Post? Or not post? I gave in tonight to my conscience on a post regarding vehicle transport. Everyone should do thier own research, and know what they pay for and are getting, and make up their own mind from there. They don't always do their homework. They often come here to do their research and ask for advice and opinions. I'm sure that the guy in question in my post tonight is a truely fine person. He was recommended to me, and is often highly recommended on this board, but the price charged made it impossible for me to make my purchase. CTProwler	I don't think POA members are trying to devalue anything. But if they see someone selling his Kat for $40000, and there is one like it on ebay for $32000 they just speak up. I think we all know what a prowler is going for now. We also speak up when we see a heavily modified Kat thats gorgeous thats selling for less then we think its worth. Let people comment, don't take anything personal. Everyone is looking for Walmart prices. Thats the american way now. Anything you own in life is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. You just have to be willing to wait it out. I sell New Homes, lets say i have one being finished now and its $825000. Someone looks at it makes a offer for $815000. I have a couple of choices, do i take it or do i wait for the extra $10000. I would take the offer if it was finished and sitting there for 3 or 4 months, but when its not even done yet i would probably counter back at $820000. Say what you want on here, give your opinions, but if someone is selling something i tend to not comment on it if i think its over priced. I would however comment if i thought it was a very good price so someone who doesn't own one yet will know. JMO ------------------
Kariedan	I purchased my prowler in Sept. I did not find the POA site until after I bought the car. I find the price info very helpful. I now know that I could have found a prowler for either less money or that had less miles on it. I have no regrets about my purchase. The time met the oppurtunity and the price I required for me to buy my dream car. If I tried to save a dollar the timing may have never matched what I needed. For me, the value of the car is related to the way it make's me feel, and the smile's I see on the face's of everybody staring at it. It is my daily driver, and I like hearing about the car's, the parts and mod's for the better price, better quality or better service.

Black Tie 161	I just think we are torn between wanting the Prowler to be rare, collectible, and worth $$$...........BUT also wanting to help other people get the best price they can when purchasing. We all want the Prowler to be worth a lot of money, but not when it's time to buy one! ------------------
Silver Flame Kat	Is it possible to email information so that it is private to an individual vice seeing it on the board forever? We definately need the information and I am not suggesting that we curtail freedom of speech, just try and keep our image positive. If you have what could be perceived as a negative comment or information, wouldn't it be better to private message?? Both members and non-members or just browsers can read the board. Heck, we all want the best deal...yet I suggest we share this type of info privately so it is not a negative influence to potential buyers or club members. Maybe we need a members only posting/viewing area. JMO

cmblockhus	Im a firm beliver in fair trade and getting top dollar for what you want to sell, like the term "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so the dollar is in the pocket of the seller. I was very happy to pay over 40,000.00 for my black car and traded in on the orange and paid over 40 for it when I saw others for much less on ebay, my choice. I wished that all prowlers would return to what we think the value of the car should be, its a real shame that they have droped to the low prices they are today. I agree with the fact that we tend to beat up ourself when someone asks 38K to 48K for a cat, but dont you really wish them well and hope the get it. Look at Bill from MTD has a beautifl red car and cant give it away for 30,000, now I think that sucks. sorry guys and gals but enough said JMO block-buster
DR PROWLER	This topic has been discussed before and I think the general concensus was that any negative posts be kept out! An item is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.Prowlers in Canada sell for well in excess of $50000 CDN which is close to $40000U.S. I'm sure the board is being frequented by visitors looking to make a purchase and negative comments will only deter the possible sale. I haven't advertised but read the posts all the time and agree with your comment! Good luck to you!
christina	I also bought my black Prowler in 2000 - would not say a bad word about her - I am 36 and I am sure I will retire with her - and watch how much money I will get for her then! Especially with all the TLC I give her - Prowlers rule. Christina P.S. tangled up in BLUE	Like it or not, the POA is much like a family...it even has a weird uncle or two.....many times a car that is drastically overpriced is advertised by someone that has never posted on the board, or contributed ANYTHING to the POA before their advertisement....they are sometimes looking to sneak in and sell something that may be overpriced to someone posting or browsing on the board, looking for a sucker so to speak.....just as you want to see your family members not get ripped off in a deal, many people here are trying to protect other POA members in a round about way, by pointing out that something may be way overpriced.....good, bad...who knows.....I have people email me quite often about car prices...what are they worth to buy or sell....I always try to be honest so they can make their decision with sound information.....we all want Prowlers to be worth the big bucks, at least till we want to buy one.....then its back to the bargain hunting ....
catfish	some prowler owners,do not value this car as much as we do. many of the ones who let them go cheap,not all but alot are high income people,they own 3-5-10-15 cars,and hardly ever drive theres. i see it all the time.the day will come when these cars are worth alot.then they will say i wish i never sold that prowler.they have not reaped the enjoyment of driving it.its unfortunate this happens,because it devalues ours. i wouldnt sell mine for anything,i purchased this car for the long run,and no matter what,its still the coolest car on the road.only thing,maybe cooler and thats a tough maybe,is the mclaren f1.but think about it for that money i could buy about 60 prowlers.prowler wins, ------------------ This message has been edited by jan bruggeman on 12-04-2003 at 05:10 PM
BeWare	Tangled , very good points. Ours is priceless not just because we love the car so much but because it makes us a member of this POA Family, attend events and have so much fun with them. Each one is like an Family reunion.

YellowFever	Price is not dictated by what any one person or group thinks about pricing either up or down. If that were the case, the new Ferrari Enzo is worth only $50K to me so where to I get one??? Price is dictated by, "Supply and Demand 101". If 100 Prowlers are for sale and only 2 folks are looking, they are a bargain. If 100 folks are looking for a Prowler and only 2 are available......
indy96	I bought my Kat because I WANTED it BADDD! I didn't think about resale value (still don't) I never realized when I bought it and linked up with other Kat owners how priceless it it is. I agree that negative comments shouldn't be posted, but information should be shared if it is relevant. like others on this post, mine will be with me for a very long time, same as my Road Runner.
